Cricket Groundhog Kingdom of Islas Mulvinas
Islas Malvinas, Government-In-Exile
2016 Annual Report
Office of the Prime Minister
Chancellor of the Exchequer
Postmaster General
HIS MAJESTY, KING FRANK, was pleased to announce, through his royal spokesman, the Prime Minister, at the CG Monthly Luncheon in December, that all is well with and within the realm.
The Post Master has been sent on a secret mission to Tahoe City, in California for the winter (“Now is the winter of his discontent”) but will reopen the post office for the sale of IMGIE postage stamps in the spring.
His Majesty has indicated that he is looking for a new Minister of Foreign Affairs, a ministry vacant with the passing of our dear brother Mike Petrone. The new minister will be expected to purchase three sets of stamps ($60, no discount as this is a patriotic honor) and may seek a title from KF. (Note, there will be no increase for the present in the donations “suggested” to the royal treasury for titles – Baron, $20; Viscount $30; Earl, $40; Marquis, $50; and Duke $60.) Those interested in this prestigious position should submit their application with a concise summary of their unique qualifications to the Prime Minister.
The Government is also looking into increasing the territory of the Kingdom with the acquisition of an additional island in the northern reaches of the Delaware River. A survey party will be dispatched in the spring.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer reported to his majesty that the significant contributions from citizens and from the sale of stamps had been turned over to the Union League to assist in covering the cost of the modest Christmas production in Lincoln Hall on December 16.
Respectfully and humbly submitted,
Edward Catell

2015 Annual Report
Office of the Prime Minister
Chancellor of the Exchequer
Postmaster General
Citizens,
I report to you as your Prime Minister, on behalf of his majesty King Frank, and the government in this, the First Annual Report of the Government. At the conclusion of tonight’s festive banquet, I shall submit to Prime Minister’s Questions in the Cigar Bar, provided however, I am supplied with generous drams of Single Malt Whisky.
This year has seen much progress in the establishment of your country, the Islas Malvinas, Government in Exile. The Post Office is up and operational, with the sale of postage stamps, bearing the likeness of his majesty, King Frank and the royal supporter – Rocky.
A coat of arms has been designed by Sir Leo Levinson, the Minister for Arms and Regalia, and incorporated into a flag of the realm. Smaller flags will be produced and offered to sale to all right thinking citizens to show their patriotism. Since IMGIE is a strong supporter of the USA, the purchase of a flag will be in the national interest of both countries.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer hereby announces that the first issue of currency of IMGIE is planned for the Spring of this year. This currency will be legal tender for all purchases of IMGIE regalia (flags) and postage stamps. Since this currency will never be devalued, and inflation in the realm is non-existent (other than in response to market forces controlled by the “invisible hand”), conversion of ever less valuable US currency, or Euros, not to mention Argentine pesos (now at 15.1 to the dollar on the real market) provides a hedge against inflation.
The first social event of the realm is declared by King Frank to be his Coronation Ball, a white tie affair to be held at the Union League. All Citizens and their ladies are invited. The date is to be scheduled for the Spring season.
In foreign affairs, we have fended off the challenge by the Kingdom of Araucania and Patigonia, established in 1860 by King Orelie Antoine de Tounens before he was summarily ejected by local authorities. His realm continues in Europe, although civil war threatens between rival claimants to the throne. One of the pretenders had named his son the Prince of the Malvinas and Tierra del Fuego. King Frank has graciously agreed to allow him to retain his title, but only to the Tierra del Fuego.
Another micro state has been discovered. It is the Freistaat Flaschenhals, which means “bottle neck” in German, created after WWI when French and American diplomats were carving up Germany into spheres of influence and the American zone around Koblenz and the French zone around Mainz left a gap between them. Freistaat Flaschenhals has a number of vineyards, several castles, and 17000 people. The government makes money by issuing coins and selling passports. Your Foreign Minister, Sir Michael Petrone, Minister of the Mint, Sir Paul Sloat, and Chancellor Lord Edward Cattell, will take both of these initiatives under consideration.
The ministries conferred by his majesty King Frank to date, are as follows:
P.M., Ch. Ex, PG, Count Edward Cattell
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sir Michael Petrone
Sir Robert Gray, Minister of Transportation
Sir Harry Aponte, Minister of Public Health
Sir Rick Alcantara, Minister of Press Censorship and Propaganda
Sir Christopher Meek, Minister of Provocative Entertainment
Sir Lloyd Remick, Minister of Defense
Sir Paul Sloat, Minister of the Mint
Sir Tom Snowden, Minister of Urban Affairs
Sir Leo Levinson, Minister for Arms and Regalia
Sir Blaze Salvator, Minister of Info Technology
Sir William Marston, Solicitor General
Sir Alan Grossman, Lord High Admiral
All titles of knighthood were conferred by his majesty as part of the Christmas Honors List upon ministers holding office. His majesty announced his intention to generously reward all who purchased stamps in the Royal Notice of April 8, 2015.
Ministries can be bought! The above Ministries were awarded to citizens who purchased at least two sheets of stamps. In 2016 it is contemplated by the Postmaster General that the cost of said stamps will be increased, or by the Prime Minister that three sheets of stamps may be required – note that the Ministry of Weather Prognostication is open, and three sheets may be cast to the wind. So, act quickly! Lose not a moment! Purchase your stamps at the annual dinner!
Signed and Issued this 19th day of December, 2015
On behalf of His Majesty King Frank
His Excellency, Count Edward V. Cattell, Jr., Esq,
Prime Minister, Ch. Of the Exchequer, Post Master General
